About

Hi there! My name is David Petzold. I work as a visual artist in Lennox Head, Australia.

In 2010 I started this blog to document the 365-day drawing challenge that I attempted and I’ve kept it going because I like sharing my work and people seem to enjoy it too.

In 2013 I took a year off from “normal” life to cycle-tour through Canada, North America, Mexico, Cuba and Europe. It was a trip that opened my eyes to many things and changed my overall perspective on life. Since then I have been concentrating on writing and illustrating children’s books.

I have many avenues of creative output; UI design, illustration, drawing and painting. They all serve a purpose and some I enjoy more than others.

All the work you see here is my own. I don’t blog about other people’s work or anything like that. If you are interested in working with me or just want to say hi please leave a comment.

  1. Great work. Loved the playfulness of your images – we are big on ‘quirky’ over at TheBigForest and you really capture a spirt of fun. Ive followed your blog and look foward to your posts.

  2. All your works are colorful and the wordings are story-telling. I love the one about leaving a candle to find the person’s way back. Yeah, you should pursue being a children’s book illustrator.:D

    1. Thanks Marifosque, It’s a hard industry to break into but I’m trying šŸ™‚ The candle drawing is about my dog Jordi who passed away in 2010.

  3. Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I have passed a Kreativ Blogger award on to you. Your work is really interesting and fun to look at. You can see it on ‘Day 106 of 365’ on my blog.

  4. Hi David, thank you for stopping by my blog. Your illustration work is stunning and your sketchbook themes are ace šŸ™‚ Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!
    All the best, Liz
